Diving in India
India has 128 dive sites spread across island groups and mainland coasts, giving diving in India a broad geographic range. Havelock Island, also called Swaraj Dweep, is the main concentration, with 15 sites, while Goa follows with six. Ramanathapuram and Kochi add five each, and Lakshadweep extends the choice offshore.
India's dive sites cover reef and open-ocean terrain, sandy bottoms, wrecks, walls, and beach access. Reef and ocean diving form the strongest parts of the mix, with sandy-bottom sites close behind. Nemo Reef draws the most activity around Havelock Island, while Suzys wreck anchors Goa's presence. The Wall and Slope further show how much of the country's established diving centers on Swaraj Dweep.
