Wind, waves & sea conditions
Check the sea before you commit your morning to it. The live map below is Windy — drag to your dive area and switch the overlay between wind, waves and swell.
Sustained wind above ~15 knots usually means a rough ride and surface chop; gusts matter more than averages for small boats. Offshore wind can flatten the shore entry but push surface currents.
Above ~1 m of swell, shore entries get hard and visibility drops as the bottom stirs up. Long-period swell travels far — a calm forecast can still carry yesterday's storm.
Your dive centre reads these conditions on their own coast every day, and it's their call to run, move sites or reschedule. A cancelled dive for weather is a decision made for your safety.
